Working Fire-Shell Ave.

December 16, 2006-A-Shift-Truck Co. 6, Rescue 6, Battalion 6, Engine Co. 4, Truck Co. 4 & Engine Co. 3 responded to a working fire just blocks away from station 6. Battalion Chief Large was informed upon his arrival that one child was possibly entrapped. T6 & R6 arrived on scene first due and initiated an aggressive interior attack and search. Primary search proved negative as the child had escaped prior to the arrival of the FD. FWBFD was assisted by Okaloosa Island FD & Ocean City-Wright FD. Units operated under the Command of Battalion Chief Gene Large.

Notice the propane bottle. Occupants were utilizing it for cooking because their power had been shut off. Fortunately, the bottle did not vent.

A City Police Officer was attacked by the occupants pit bull. Fortunately, he only suffered one good bit & the dog was lucky to live another day-the owner got between the dog and about 4 officers with their 9mm pulled and ready. Below is what the officer found on his desk upon returning to work the following day. Looks like something a fireman would do!
