Special Operations responded to this MVA requested by Niceville FD. East Niceville FD also assisted with
this call. This was a rather unique one. The driver of the beer truck had a turkey, yeah I said that right, a turkey fly up,
hit the windshield & literally go through the windshield hitting the driver causing him to loose control of the semi.
Now, the turkey is not the unique part of this story.
As the driver
lost control and began rolling, the trailer started sliding down the road on its side at a high rate of speed. A pick-up
truck was coming the opposite direction. As he saw this event unfolding in front of him and he slammed the brakes coming
to almost a complete stop. The semi trailer slid around him (as it was coming at him) and the truck was literally scooped
up inside the beer trailer... shaken but not stirred. UNREAL. He must have thought he had died and gone to beer heaven-surrounded
by thousands of beers. The driver of the pick up was not hurt & the driver of the Semi was air lifted & survived without
life threatening injuries (unbelievable by looking at the pictures). He had an Angel with him that day.
Another
call to notate that we won't see again! Needless to say, someone got a heck of a deal on some spilled beer!
